What is hangover?

Medically known as veisalgia, hangover is the name of a condition that is triggered by the consumption of large amounts of alcohol or other drug. Usually the condition that is associated with the after-effects of large consumption of alcohol is called as the hangover.

What are the causes of hangover?

Excessive alcohol consumption is probably the one and only cause that can lead to hangover. Certain drugs, however, have been known to trigger the ailment. Doctors explain that alcohol leads to dehydration which causes ones mouth to go dry and also induces headaches and a resulting condition which is called hangover.

What are the symptoms of hangover?

Post hangover you will have a dry mouth and will have a strong urge to moisten your tongue and throat.

You feel sleepy and drowsy during hangover.

You will have a heavy head and also often a severe headache.

Usually the eyes are swollen and will be slightly or very red in color.

Nausea and vomiting are the other common symptoms

You will want to avoid exposure to light and will want to continue sleeping.

The home remedies which are prescribed for hangover:

If you suspect that you might have a hangover drink a lot of water before you go to bed. This should stop the dehydrating effects of alcohol. Drink lots of water even after you wake up as this will help you to prevent having a severe hangover.

Do not drink in empty stomach and eat something while and after your are drinking. This declines the rate at which alcohol enters your blood and can thus reduce the after-effects.

Eat starchy food with alcohol as it slows down the absorption rate of the liquor.

Vitamin C tablets help to break down the alcohol content in your body and thus prevent hangover.

Drink moderately. Do not have more than a drink in an hour.

Alternate alcoholic drink with a nonalcoholic beverage as this will help you to reduce the quantity that you are drinking.

Do not have carbonated drink with alcohol as carbonation can speed up the alcohol absorption.

After you drink or while you drink avoid sweet and sugary foods as the sweet taste can confuse you, thus making it tough for you to judge how much alcohol you’re actually consuming.

Going organic seems to be the mantra for a healthy living today. From fruits to veggies, organically grown stuff has carved a definite niche for itself today. And this trend is observed across the broad spectrum of the society. From the high spending rich even to the rather economy minded middle class. Across the board there has been a paradigm shift in the way people look at organically grown stuff and their consumption.

Today there are a considerable number of suppliers who are willing to supply such organically cultivated veggies and more and more number of people are all the more willing to grab them.

This shift in thinking is a result of the greater consciousness about healthy living that this organic stuff promote. No doubt these might cost you a little more than the vegetables that you find in the normal stores. But this higher price is only taken as an investment for a better health in the long run.

So did some one say, what is this organic stuff??? The simplest way to describe is that it’s something that grown without the intervention of any human made chemicals. Chemicals such as pesticides, insecticides; or genetically modified and engineered seeds; added preservatives or colors everything is a strict no for organically grown products.

Now the million-dollar question that confronts us is whether or not such products are readily available. The straight answer to this is a simple yes. But then, remember that you need to have an eye to look for the quality products. The so-called ‘natural’ things are not always the organic things that we are looking for.

Organic products can be grown in your own background. Window boxes and terrace patches are the other great options that one has if you are looking to grow them yourself. But if you are the sorts who feels better off from all this and yet would love to enjoy the purity and freshness of organic stuff. Not to worry people, all you got to do is simply find yourself a farmer who despises the chemicals are you do and can source your products directly from him. Another way, and probably the simplest of all, would be to find a reliable supplier. The supplier can acts as the interface between you and the farmer, benefiting each of you.

And one last word, when you are looking for the organic products then looks is the last thing that you must dwell upon. Organic products might not have the best of colors, shapes or sizes, yet they are the best way to a healthier lifestyle both now and in the long run.

Contact your doctor if pain is severe.

Healing of the injury depends on the severity of the injury. If it is a minor muscle injury it might heal with in two to three weeks, but if it is little more serious then it might take five to six weeks. If you take proper care of the pulled back muscle, the pain will fade away gradually.

3 Quick and Easy Home Remedies For Dandruff Care

Over 97% of people mainly in America are victims to dandruff at one point in time during their lives. And all over the world the ratio is 1 out of 2 people have excessive dandruff! Buying potions, shampoos, and conditioners can get very expensive and often times a hassle. With all the brands out there claiming to get rid of dandruff, some of them are just a smoke and mirrors ploy. So what’s a girl or guy to do? Why not try home remedies for dandruff care.

One remedy is with vinegar and water applied directly to the scalp. You can use a mixture of:

2 teaspoons vinegar

6 teaspoons water

Let sit overnight

Repeat in the morning

Over a period of a couple of months the problem should no longer plague you.

Another fix for that itchy and bothersome scalp is lemons and sandalwood. This mixture is composed of:

1 teaspoons Sandalwood Oil

3 teaspoons Lemon Juice

Massage Scalp (gently)

After massage apply an egg shampoo

After this treatment, you can use Aloe Vera to keep the growth and excess dandruff down. You should allow the Aloe Vera to sit around 15 minutes before washing your hair.

Another addition to the home remedies for dandruff care list is the use of apple cider and vinegar. The mixture contains:

1 part Warm Apple Cider

1 part plain warm water

1 part vinegar

When washing with the apple cider and vinegar mixture, let it set 30-40 minutes. Rinse with normal water. You will have to keep doing this every time you take a shower and try not to worry about the vinegary smell because it will go away in a very short amount of time.
